volunteers and Interns
Our program brings together international interns and local volunteers to facilitate skill building. This is achieved through onsite local workshops and programs to help youth stay grounded in their community, while encouraging them to attend school and to identify and recognize the talents that will lead to a better life. All interns are university graduates with skills in international development, teaching English, and/or working with and mentoring youth. Local volunteers are both Mexican nationals and foreigners who also bring their special talent, skills, and resources to make our community centers places that improve the lives of rural youth and better the communities.
- CLASSROOM INTERNS - Classroom interns are needed to assist our teachers with running our educational programs. Classroom interns must speak Spanish at a minimum intermediate level and be committed to the students.
- VOLUNTEER DRIVERS – Rural Ed needs drivers to help us get to and from our project sites. This involves a commitment of about an hour a week.
- WORKSHOPS – We are looking for San Miguel residents with skills in art, music, drama, etc to run workshops with our program participants.
- EVENTS/FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE – We are looking for volunteers to assist in planning fundraising events for the organization.
